Fatal Collision Near Nanoura Village Claims Five Lives
In a devastating accident that struck the Srinagar area of Mahoba, five individuals lost their lives and three sustained critical injuries when a car collided head-on with a motorcycle around 1:30 pm on Monday, authorities confirmed.
Details of the Accident
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh, the collision occurred near Nanoura village on the Srinagar-Belatal road. Eyewitnesses describe the car as speeding before it crashed into the motorcycle, dragging it nearly 20 meters. Both vehicles then veered off the road, ultimately plunging into a roadside ditch.
The deceased include two motorcyclists and three car occupants, identified as Bharatlal (35), Ajay (18), Sanjeev (22), Vinod (27), and Rampal (31). Meanwhile, the three injured — Khushi, Udaybhan, and Ankit — are currently receiving treatment at the district government hospital.
Preliminary Cause and Investigation
Early investigations suggest a possible tyre burst in the car may have caused the tragic crash. The vehicle reportedly had six passengers returning from a family function held in Bagroun village.
Authorities have sent the victims’ bodies for post-mortem examinations as further inquiries continue to determine the exact circumstances behind the accident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragedy. He also directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.
