Bomb Explosion Derails Jaffar Express in Pakistan’s Sindh Province

On Wednesday, a powerful bomb detonated near the railway tracks in Jacobabad district, Sindh, causing six coaches of the Jaffar Express to derail. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in this incident.

Details of the Incident

The blast took place close to a cattle market in Jacobabad, a region bordering the volatile province of Balochistan. The shock from the explosion led six bogies of the train, which was bound for Quetta, to come off the rails.

Emergency services, including police and paramilitary units, quickly arrived at the scene to secure the area, while investigations have been launched to understand the nature of the explosion and identify the perpetrators.

In response to the attack, authorities have temporarily suspended train operations along this route.

Recurring Target: The Jaffar Express

This marks the second attack on the Jaffar Express in recent months. Back in March, the train was assaulted in Balochistan’s Bolan district while traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. That attack was claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which had briefly hijacked the train before a military operation secured its release.

So far, no group has stepped forward to claim responsibility for this latest blast.

Security and Investigations Ongoing

Security forces remain vigilant as investigations unfold to ensure the safety of the railway network and prevent future attacks. The incident highlights ongoing tensions in the region and the challenges faced in securing critical transportation infrastructure.
