The FBI has confirmed the extradition of Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani national residing in Canada, to the United States ahead of terrorism charges. Khan is accused of planning a mass shooting targeting a Jewish community center in Brooklyn on behalf of ISIS.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, who leads the agency and is of Indian origin, Khan intended to carry out the attack on October 7, 2024 – the first anniversary of the Hamas assault on Israel in 2023. Authorities say Khan planned to travel from Canada to New York to execute the mass shooting.
Canadian authorities apprehended Khan on September 4, 2024, preventing the attack before it could take place. His extradition to the U.S. followed soon after, ensuring that he would be brought to justice under American law.
