Iran's Supreme Leader Declares Victory Over Israel and US
In a bold statement, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei proclaimed a triumphant stance against Israel and the United States, framing recent events as a significant win for Iran. Posting on his official account, Khamenei described Israel indirectly as the “fallacious Zionist regime” that has been effectively subdued by Iran's efforts.
“With all that commotion and all those claims, the Zionist regime was practically knocked out and crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic,” he asserted, heralding a so-called victory over the Israeli state.
Strong Words Directed at the United States
“My congratulations on our dear Iran’s victory over the US regime. The US regime entered the war directly because it felt that if it didn’t, the Zionist regime would be completely destroyed. It entered the war in an effort to save that regime but achieved nothing,” Khamenei stated.
Highlighting Iran’s Military Response in the Gulf
Khamenei also emphasized Iran’s recent retaliatory action against US forces, specifically pointing to damage inflicted on the Al-Udeid Air Base, a key American military installation in the Gulf. Describing this strike as a “heavy slap,” he underscored Iran’s capacity to reach and impact critical US assets.
Warning of Future Strikes and Regional Power
Going further, Khamenei warned that Iran retains the ability and willingness to target US centers in the region any time it deems necessary. He suggested such actions could recur and cautioned that any aggression against Iran would incur a severe cost.
“The fact that the Islamic Republic has access to key US centers in the region and can take action whenever it deems necessary is a significant matter. Such an action can be repeated in the future too. Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price.”
Context and Implications
This series of declarations comes just before Khamenei is scheduled to deliver a rare video address, his first remarks following a US-brokered ceasefire between Iran and Israel earlier this week. His statements highlight Tehran’s defiant tone and signal that despite the ceasefire, tensions in the region remain high.
Iran’s assertive posture and explicit warnings underscore the fragile stability in the Gulf, as well as Tehran’s determination to maintain influence and respond aggressively to perceived threats.
