Anjali Sud, CEO of streaming platform Tubi, has been elected to Harvard University's Board of Overseers. This appointment marks a significant milestone as she succeeds Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of Canada, who stepped down earlier this year.
Born in 1983 to Punjabi immigrant parents in Detroit, Anjali Sud is a Harvard Business School alumnus, earning her MBA in 2011. She has held leadership roles across notable companies including Amazon, Time Warner, and Vimeo. Currently, she chairs the board at Change.org and serves as a board member at Dolby Laboratories. Additionally, Sud contributes to philanthropic efforts as part of the executive committee of the development board at Phillips Academy Andover, focusing on financial aid.
The Board of Overseers is one of Harvard's two governing bodies responsible for guiding the university's academic standards, conducting evaluations of its schools and departments, and shaping strategic directions. Sud’s role will involve close collaboration with other members to uphold Harvard’s academic excellence and research pursuits.
In a related development, Sanjay Seth, a climate and sustainability expert and dual-degree Harvard graduate in urban planning and public administration, has been elected to the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) Board as a director. Seth previously served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Climate and Equity at the US Environmental Protection Agency's New England office. He will begin his three-year tenure starting July 1.
The HAA Board fosters alumni engagement and strengthens global alumni communities. Together, these appointments underscore the increasing representation and leadership of Indian-Americans in academia and governance.
