Anjali Sud, CEO of streaming platform Tubi, has been appointed to Harvard University's Board of Overseers, succeeding former Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Harvard University recently announced that Anjali Sud will fill the remaining two years of the unexpired term previously held by Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of Canada, who stepped down from the Board on March 9, 2025. The Board of Overseers is one of Harvard's two governing bodies, tasked with overseeing visitation and conducting external evaluations of the university's academic programs and departments.
Anjali Sud’s appointment underscores her impressive leadership trajectory. Born in Detroit in 1983 to Punjabi immigrant parents, Sud earned her MBA from Harvard Business School in 2011. She has held senior positions at renowned companies including Amazon, Time Warner, and Vimeo. Currently, Sud leads Tubi as CEO, chairs the board at Change.org, and serves on the board of Dolby Laboratories. Additionally, she contributes to financial aid initiatives as part of the executive committee at Phillips Academy Andover's development board.
In a parallel development, Sanjay Seth, an expert in climate and sustainability and a dual-degree Harvard alumnus in urban planning and public administration, has been elected as a director of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA). Seth previously served as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor for Climate and Equity at the US Environmental Protection Agency’s New England office. His three-year term begins on July 1, 2025. The HAA Board fosters alumni engagement and promotes community building among Harvard graduates worldwide.
These notable appointments reflect the expanding influence and leadership roles of Indian-Americans within key academic and professional spheres.
