Israel has officially announced a ceasefire agreement with Iran, brokered by former US President Donald Trump, marking a significant development in regional tensions. This confirmation came directly from Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Tuesday, following weeks of conflict under the codename Operation Rising Lion.
Strategic Victory Declared by Israel
According to the MoFA, the ceasefire was agreed upon only after Israel met all its operational goals. A statement posted on social media platform X detailed that Israel had neutralized a dual existential threat posed by Iran's nuclear ambitions and ballistic missile programs. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed to have achieved complete air superiority over Tehran and severely damaged Iran’s military command along with dozens of strategic regime targets.
Israel’s confirmation came just hours after Iran launched multiple missile attacks despite the impending ceasefire announcement. Iranian state media also reported that a truce with Israel was in place as the announcement surfaced.

Following these discussions, US Vice President JD Vance coordinated with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani to finalize ceasefire details. Diplomatic sources confirm that these combined efforts led Iran to accept the ceasefire.
