Trump Warns Iran of Unprecedented Military Response
In the wake of escalating turmoil across the Middle East, former US President Donald Trump delivered a forceful warning to Iran. Emphasizing the potential consequences of any hostile action against the United States, Trump asserted that the US military would respond with "levels never seen before." His remarks came amid heightened tensions following a recent series of Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear sites.
Distancing the US from Israeli Strikes
Trump took to social media platform Truth Social to clarify the US position, stressing that America was not involved in Israel’s Operation Rising Lion. The Israeli campaign, which struck critical Iranian nuclear infrastructure and led to the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian figures, has intensified regional instability. Trump’s message to Iran’s leadership was unequivocal:
"The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before."
Calls for Diplomacy Amid Rising Conflict
Despite his firm military stance, Trump also expressed hope for a peaceful resolution. He suggested that a deal between Iran and Israel could put an end to the bloodshed, stating, "However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!"
Interestingly, in the days leading up to the Israeli airstrikes, Trump had advocated for diplomatic engagement with Tehran. Yet following the operation, he appeared to attribute some of the pressure on Iran to his own prior warnings. Reminding Iran of a previous ultimatum, he wrote:
"Two months ago I gave Iran a 60-day ultimatum to 'make a deal.' Today is day 61. I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t get there. Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!"
Sharp Words and Urgent Appeals
Trump’s communications went further, claiming that Iranian commanders were caught unprepared, resulting in substantial losses:
"They didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!"
Balancing his stern warnings with a plea for de-escalation, he added, "There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left."
Background: Israeli Preemptive Strikes
The operation executed by Israeli forces targeted and eliminated six of Iran’s top nuclear scientists alongside senior military commanders. Officials justified the offensive as a preventative measure focused on dismantling Iran’s advancing nuclear weapons program, intensifying the fragile security landscape of the region.
