The head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) revealed on Tuesday that the US military has developed a wide array of strategies to deter Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. General Michael “Erik” Kurilla shared this during a congressional hearing, affirming the military’s preparedness to respond decisively if Iran refuses to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

In response to a direct question from Representative Mike Rogers of Alabama, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Kurilla confirmed that he has provided the Secretary of Defense and the President with multiple plans. “I have provided the secretary of defense and the president with a wide range of options,” Kurilla stated during the hearing.
When pressed on whether CENTCOM stood ready to respond with force, Kurilla responded simply: “Yes.”
