Young Engineer from Bihar Disappears in Iran During Conflict
A 25-year-old engineer from Bihar's Siwan district has gone missing in Iran as tensions escalate between Iran and Israel. Identified as Siraj Ali Ansari, he was working as a Quality Control Engineer at a petroleum company and was posted in Iran when he disappeared.
Journey and Last Contact
Siraj travelled to Iran from Saudi Arabia on June 9. His family revealed that the last contact was on June 17 around 2 p.m. when he spoke to his father and informed him that he was in a safe location. However, he mentioned that bombings were occurring just a kilometre away from his residence.
Since that call, his phone has been switched off and all communication has ceased, leaving his family deeply worried.
Family's Plea for Urgent Government Intervention
Siraj is the eldest among two brothers and one sister and remains unmarried. His family has approached the district authorities, appealing for immediate action from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian government to secure his safe return.
His father, Hazrat Ali, along with his uncles, has requested the government to expedite the evacuation of Siraj and other Indian nationals stranded amid the ongoing hostilities.
"My humble appeal to the Indian government is to ensure safe evacuation for my son and fellow Indians caught in the conflict zone," Hazrat Ali said.
Growing Concerns Amid Regional Turmoil
As the conflict between Iran and Israel intensifies, the safety of Indian nationals residing or working in the region remains a pressing concern. Efforts under the ongoing Operation Sindhu have so far evacuated over 1,700 Indians from Iran, with the latest batch of 285 nationals arriving safely recently.
The disappearance of Siraj Ali Ansari adds to the growing unease among families monitoring the volatile situation abroad.
