Due to the closure of Israeli airspace and suspension of commercial flights, more than 300 Indians have already embarked on evacuation journeys via land borders. From there, they will fly to New Delhi after reaching transit points in Jordan or Egypt. This evacuation marks the first wave of departures amid growing regional instability.

Currently, close to 18,000 Indian nationals reside in Israel, including many students and professionals. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has activated Operation Sindhu—originally launched for evacuations in Iran—to assist Indian citizens wishing to return home safely from Israel.
The MEA reassured citizens that the government prioritizes their safety and is facilitating travel through available land routes followed by air travel to India.
