Tokyo: Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba engaged in a constructive telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Thursday, focusing on tariff-related matters between the two countries.
According to Ishiba, the dialogue was described as "meaningful," enabling both leaders to deepen their mutual understanding of each other's perspectives on ongoing trade discussions.
This marked the second conversation between the two leaders this month, following their initial call on May 23. The discussions come ahead of the anticipated fourth round of tariff negotiations scheduled between the United States and Japan.
Officials from both nations continue to seek resolution on tariff disputes to facilitate balanced trade relations.
