Iran’s Supreme Leader Issues Stark Warning Amid Escalating Conflict
Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a fierce warning to the United States and Israel, declaring that Iran will not capitulate to external pressures or threats.
Defiant Response to US and Israeli Actions
In a televised address, Khamenei condemned Israel’s recent military strikes, calling them a “huge mistake” that would invite severe consequences. He emphasized the resilience of the Iranian people, stating: “Those who know Iran’s history know that Iranians do not answer well to the language of threat.” Rejecting any notion of forced peace or surrender, he declared that Iran will neither accept imposed peace nor war, underscoring his country’s steadfastness.
Warnings Over US Involvement
Responding to President Donald Trump’s earlier remarks — including his acknowledgement of knowing Khamenei’s whereabouts but refraining from acting “at least for now” — the Supreme Leader notified that any American strike on Iran would trigger serious, irreparable consequences. He reiterated that Iran would not surrender under pressure.
Calls for Strong Retaliation
Khamenei further took to social media, explicitly calling out the “terrorist Zionist regime” and vowed to show “no mercy” in retaliation. His statements came on the heels of announcements by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which revealed the use of hypersonic Fattah-1 missiles and a deployment of drone swarms in its recent attacks on Israel, part of an operation dubbed “Honest Promise 3.”
Escalating Military Operations
The conflict intensified as Israeli warplanes targeted locations in Tehran before dawn, following military warnings for civilians to evacuate District 18. Iranian state media reported multiple explosions across the capital, including in Piroozi, Sabalan, and Sayyad neighborhoods, signaling a sharp escalation in hostilities.
Regional Stability at Risk
This latest exchange of strikes and threats further jeopardizes regional stability, with both nations entangled in a tit-for-tat military confrontation. The looming prospect of American involvement adds another layer of complexity to an already volatile situation.
