Former Union Minister MJ Akbar sharply criticized Pakistan’s government during a public address in Copenhagen, describing it as deceptive and double-faced. He dismissed ongoing diplomatic talks initiated by Pakistan as mere bluffs designed to mask preparations for further terrorist activities.
Addressing an Indian audience, Akbar employed strong metaphors, referring to Pakistan’s leadership as having a "forked tongue" and a "double face," questioning the sincerity of its diplomatic engagements. He stated, "Pakistan has talks with a poisoned tongue... Who gets hurt when a tongue is poisoned? A snake is never killed by its own poison."
He further emphasized India's stance on dialogue, saying, "We have the moral courage to say we will talk on issues that matter, not waste time on talks that serve as excuses for preparation of terror attacks. All talks with Pakistan are simply a period which Pakistan exploits for the next terrorist attack. The talks are nothing but a bluff."
Akbar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm approach, acknowledging his efforts to confront Pakistan’s duplicity head-on. He noted, "We now have a leader who has actually called out Pakistan’s bluff and made sustained efforts to bring a nation with a genetic disorder to its senses."
Akbar was part of a multi-party Indian delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, which includes prominent lawmakers across various parties. This delegation is engaged in diplomatic outreach following India's Operation Sindoor, a targeted military strike against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
These delegations are visiting key international partners and the United Nations Security Council to project India's resolute position against terrorism in all its forms. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has highlighted the unified approach of the Indian government in combating terrorism through this outreach.
