During a public address in Bhuj, Gujarat, on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a stark message to Pakistan, urging the nation to abandon terrorism and embrace peace or face the consequences of India’s military strength. "Sukh chain ki zindagi jio, roti khao. Varna meri goli to hai hee" (Live a life of peace and eat your meals. Otherwise, my bullet awaits you), he stated emphatically.
This visit to Gujarat marked Modi's first to the state following India's military retaliation under Operation Sindoor, a response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. The Prime Minister warned that the Indian Army would respond decisively to any future provocations. He accused Pakistan’s government and military of exploiting terrorism for self-interest and appealed to Pakistani citizens to rise against this detrimental menace that is destroying their future.
"The people of Pakistan need to come forward to rid their country of terrorism. Their youth will have to take the lead," Modi emphasized.
Commemorating his 11th year in office, Modi highlighted India’s soaring economic stature, now the fourth largest economy globally, contrasting it with Pakistan’s difficulties. "What is your situation? Those who promoted terrorism ruined your future," he remarked.
At the inauguration of development projects totaling over Rs 53,400 crore in the border district of Kutch, Modi underscored the divergent paths of the two nations: "While India embraces tourism, Pakistan treats terrorism as its form of 'tourism,' which poses a danger globally."
Reflecting on recent events, Modi shared that he waited 15 days post-Pahalgam attack, hoping Pakistan would act against terrorism. However, he noted, "It seems terrorism is their bread and butter." Referring to Pakistan’s failed drone strikes on civilians on May 9, Modi declared, "Our military retaliated with double force and dismantled their air bases."
