Athens, May 29, 2025: DMK Member of Parliament Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, leading an all-party delegation to Greece, declared that India will no longer differentiate between acts of terrorism committed by individuals and those sponsored by states.
During her interaction with the Indian diaspora in Athens on Wednesday, Kanimozhi emphasized the unified position of the Indian government, which includes opposition members of parliament, in rejecting cross-border terrorism unequivocally. She highlighted the government’s commitment to a resolute 'no more' stance after enduring years of terrorist assaults.
Kanimozhi stated, "Our Prime Minister and the Government of India have taken a decisive step to engage with other countries. Except for Capt Brijesh Chowta, all members of our delegation belong to opposition parties. India has suffered greatly, and it is time to firmly reject all forms of terrorism, whether state-sponsored or individual."
The delegation, which includes representatives from various parties such as Samajwadi Party, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, BJP, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Aam Aadmi Party, and former diplomats, is conducting outreach to international partners. Their objective is to underscore India’s response to recent terror incidents, including the April 22 Pahalgam attack, and to reinforce India’s zero-tolerance policy toward cross-border terrorism.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kanimozhi and the delegation held discussions with the editorial board of the Athens-based newspaper Kathimerini. This engagement formed part of the broader diplomatic initiative aimed at countering misinformation globally and communicating India’s firm stand against terrorism in all its forms.
The delegation’s itinerary includes meetings with officials and communities in Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia. This outreach effort seeks to build international understanding and support for India’s stance on terrorism and regional security challenges.
